When I joined Ove in 2018 one of my first assignments was to finalize and launch the new Canada Life brand that had been in development for over a year. The strategy, framework and brand story had already been developed, along with a new logo and core elements of the visual identity system. I spent the next nine months leading the design team through fine tuning the guidelines, working with the client’s digital team to bring the brand to life online, and supporting a nation-wide internal and external launch in April 2019.

My contributions included:

  • Commissioning and directing a custom illustration set reflecting the tone and personality of the brand
  • Leading the development of the animated logo, partnering with the video team
  • Collaborating with a team of photographers to research and develop a relevant photography style that connected with the brand strategy
  • Overseeing the development and execution of announcement ads and an email campaign
  • Developing internal launch materials and office captivations
  • Working with the client’s real estate team and specialized vendors to roll out an external signage program
