Ernst & Young had sponsored The Great Canadian Printmaking Competition for many years, and was looking for ideas to celebrate the 15 year anniversary. Initial ideas to put on a travelling exhibition of the pieces proved too costly. I brought forward the idea to produce a book, showcasing winning artwork through the years. I developed an elegant hardcover book taking care to source the best paper and print techniques for a high-end final product. A tone-on-tone foil stamp created an elegant cover in neutrals; inside colours were carefully chosen to compliment the artwork and bring each piece to life.

  • High-end finishes and materials The large size, cloth-covered hard cover format used high quality paper for optimal image reproduction and a high quality feel
  • Effective use of colour Colour was used strategically to bring out certain art pieces for maximum impact
  • Maintaining the integrity of the art Colour proofs were compared with each physical art piece to ensure the closest accuracy possible
